Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) or Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) are the economic rights granted by law to a creator or inventor on a work of human intellectual abilities. WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), an international organization under the United Nations that focuses on issues of IPR provides the following definition:
Intellectual property (IP) Refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce
