JURISPRUDENCE

Jurisprudence derived from "prudential iuris" (Latin), "Jurisprudentie" (Netherlands), "jurisprudence" (France) which means "Science of Law" (Black's law dictionary, second edition, 1979).
In common law, jurisprudence translated as "A science of positive law and its relations with other law". While the statute law system and civil law, translated as "judge earlier rulings that have permanent legal force and is followed by the judges or other judicial body in deciding cases or similar cases" (Simorangkir, 1987: 78).

Jurisprudence of the Supreme Court of Indonesia is the verdict of the Supreme Court Justices in the Supreme Court of Indonesia has had a binding law contains rules imposed in examining and deciding cases within the scope of Criminal Justice, Civil, Administrative, Religion and Commerce are qualified. Several Supreme Court jurisprudence that has several times used as a reference for the judge to decide a case the same so that it becomes a source of law which has binding force relative.

Not all of the judge's decision should be taken by other judges in deciding a similar case.
